ADDING FILES TO A DATA MODEL

Overview

All Kradle accounts include a data storage allocation that can be used to store files and documents within an account.

These files and documents can easily be stored within a data model using Data Visualizer.

All file types are supported and there is no limitation of file size.

info    In order to add files and documents to your Data Visualizer model, at least one Node Group and Node Type must be created. To learn how to create Node Groups and Node Types, use to the following links:

How To Add Files To Your Account

Files are added to an account by uploading them to a node within the Data Visualizer data model.

To upload a file to a node:

  1. First, ensure that either:
    • At least one Node Group and Node Type has been created within your account, or
    • You already have an existing data model to add files into.
  2. Navigate to Data Visualizer > Data Model
  3. If you have an existing data model:
    • Click the Display All Nodes icon Display All Nodes
    • Right-click the node you wish to add files to. This will display the radial Node Controls menu.
    • Click the Files icon (Upload, download, and view node files).
    • In the newly opened Files blade, click the Upload Files icon Upload Files
    • Within the Upload Files blade, either:
      • Drag and drop files into the upload area, or
      • Click Browse Files and select the files you wish to upload.
    • Then click the Upload button
  4. If you are creating a new data model:
    • Click and drag a Node Type to your data model.
    • Right-click the node
    • Click the Files icon (Upload, download, and view node files).
    • In the newly opened Files blade, click the Upload Files icon Upload Files
    • Within the Upload Files blade, either:
      • Drag and drop files into the upload area, or
      • Click Browse Files and select the files you wish to upload.
    • Then click the Upload button

Viewing, Downloading & Deleting Files

Once files have been added to a data model, they can be viewed, downloaded or deleted.

To access these controls:

  1. Navigate to Data Visualizer > Data Model.
  2. Click the Display All Nodes icon Display All Nodes.
  3. Right-click the node in which the files are saved.
  4. Click the Files icon (Upload, download, and view node files).
  5. This will open the Files blade.
  6. Within this blade, users can see all files that are saved within the node.
    • To view a file, simply click the file from the list. This will open the Document Preview blade in which a preview of the file will be displayed.
    • To download a file, check the box next to the file you wish to download. Then click the Download icon download file icon.
    • To delete a file, check the box next to the file you wish to download. Then click the Delete icon .

Viewing, Downloading & Deleting Files
