Layers On The Data Model Toolbar

Layers play an important role in navigating and simplifying the Data Model as they allow a User to efficiently reveal or hide a collection of Nodes and Links.

As shown in the image below, there are 10 Layers available on the Data Model and a user can customize each Layer to meet their specific Data Model requirements.

How to Add A Node To A Layers

  1. Navigate to Data Visualizer | Node Builder
  2. Locate the Node Group and the Node Type within that group. Or create a new Node Type.
  3. In the Node Type blade, use the up and down arrows to select which Layer you would like to add the Node Type to.
  4. Click the Save icon

Managing Data Model Layers

  1. Select Data Visualizer | Layer Management.
  2. The default ten (10) layers will be displayed on the Layer Management blade.
  3. To customize a Layer, click on the layer you wish to edit.
  4. Enter a layer name and select the Custom Layer Colour from the menu.
  5. Click the Save icon

   By default, all Node Types will be added to Layer One (1)
